When I was a little girl my family moved to the mountains on the edge of Montana and my dad became a hunting guide in Idaho. It was always his dream and he was in his glory walking those mountains over and over again. Walking along side people who had never set foot in them before. The image of a guide has become so beautiful to me. If you’re not sure what a guide is, I looked it up for you…
- to assist (a person) to travel through, or reach a destination in, an unfamiliar area, as by accompanying or giving directions to the person: He guided us through the forest.
- to accompany (a sightseer) to show points of interest and to explain their meaning or significance.
- to force (a person, object, or animal) to move in a certain path.
- to supply (a person) with advice or counsel, as in practical or spiritual affairs.
I’m not a coach or a mentor, I’m simply a girl who knows a bit of the terrain and wants to help you explore it too. Someone who can hold the flashlight when things get dark, so you can see your feet in front of you. Someone who loves a paper map and wants to help you find your North. Someone who has photographs of her greatest feats and wants to talk about what yours’ are.
Do you need someone to walk with you through your woods? Have you forgotten what the shoreline looks like? Or have you never really seen it with your own eyes? Have you gotten so far off course that you don’t even know where you started? Are the clothes you’re wearing not your own and you need a new set of hiking boots ?
Because this is a new venture for me I’m offering up three spaces. Three girls who want to start out on their journey but don’t know what to pack. If you’ve lost your footing and need someone to guide you, email me. These three spaces will be for 3 -30 minute sessions, at no charge. It will give me a chance to dig into the terrain and you a chance to leap with me cheering you on. If this sounds like a great fit to you then email me: alicia at milagrogirl dot com. I’d love to walk along side you.
Update: I’ve had a beautiful response to this. If you’ve contacted me I’ll be in touch shortly. Much love brave girls.
